What We Do

Drying a vegetable is easy. Doing it the same way twice is not.

Anyone with a dryer can produce onion powder. Producing onion powder that tastes the same in March as it did in October, from a different crop and a different field, is a manufacturing discipline — and it is the only thing a seasoning blender actually cares about, because their recipe is built on the assumption that our ingredient does not move.

Driedland Foods and Spice manufactures dehydrated vegetable and fruit powders from Indian raw material. Our range covers six core lines: onion, garlic, tomato, lemon, potato and beetroot powder. Each is produced to a specification agreed in writing with the buyer rather than to a single house standard.

The lines behave quite differently and are handled accordingly. Garlic needs low, patient drying because its aroma compounds scorch. Tomato and beetroot are managed for pigment retention. Potato is cooked before drying so the starch gelatinises. A plant that runs one profile for everything will make mediocre versions of all of them.

Sourcing

A powder is only as good as what entered the dryer

We operate from Surat, Gujarat — with access both to established vegetable growing regions and to the port infrastructure serving global shipping routes.

Raw material is where powder quality is decided, and nothing downstream repairs a bad decision here. Onion pungency depends on variety and growing conditions. Tomato colour depends on how ripe and how red the fruit was. Beetroot pigment strength depends on the depth of colour in the root. Drying concentrates whatever was there — including the shortcomings.

So intake inspection is a real gate rather than a formality, and unsound material is rejected before it reaches processing. Where a buyer needs a particular pungency, colour strength or variety consistently, we discuss that at enquiry stage so sourcing can be planned around it rather than discovered later.

Who We Serve

Commercial and industrial buyers worldwide

We are a business-to-business supplier. Our customers use our powders as ingredients in their own products, or sell them on under their own brand.

  • Food manufacturers
  • Seasoning and spice blenders
  • Snack food producers
  • Sauce and condiment makers
  • Ingredient importers
  • Wholesale distributors
  • Private label brands
  • Nutraceutical companies
  • Food service suppliers
  • Contract manufacturers

A snack seasoning house and a nutraceutical brand want almost opposite things from the same catalogue. The seasoning house cares about flavour intensity, particle size and how the powder adheres in an oil slurry. The supplement brand cares about pigment, composition and label simplicity. Serving both keeps our conversations anchored to what the powder is actually going into.

If you are new to importing from India, that is common among our enquiries. Our export process page sets out each stage — sampling, specification, documentation and shipping — so you can see what is involved before committing to anything.

How We Work

The principles behind every production lot

Batch-to-Batch Consistency

Controlled dehydration and milling so the lot you approve is the lot you keep receiving, which is what protects your own recipes.

Custom Specifications

Mesh size, moisture and colour milled to your written specification rather than to a single house standard.

Flavour-Protective Drying

Temperature and airflow managed to remove moisture without scorching the volatile compounds that carry the flavour.

Private Label & OEM

Retail jars, pouches and shakers packed under your own brand, ready for distribution.

Barrier Export Packing

Lined, sealed packing chosen for the powder's hygroscopicity and the humidity of your destination.

Samples Before Volume

Physical samples from real production lots so your technologists can trial before any commitment.

Export Documentation

Commercial and customs paperwork prepared with each consignment, with destination requirements confirmed at quotation.

Traceable Lots

Every consignment carries a lot code tied to its production run, so questions after delivery have answers.

Transparency

What we will and will not claim

Plenty of ingredient websites lead with impressive tonnages and rows of certification badges. We would rather be useful than impressive, so here is our position plainly.

The technical information on this site describes how these products behave and how we make them. Specification values on product pages are presented as typical and indicative, because dehydrated powders genuinely vary with raw material and season. Your final specification is agreed in writing per order.

Where a certificate or compliance document is required for your market, ask us directly. We will confirm exactly what can be provided for your destination rather than displaying a badge here and sorting out the detail later. Buyers are also welcome to appoint their own inspection agency before loading.

Common Questions

About our company

Where are you based?

We operate from Surat, Gujarat, India — with access to vegetable growing regions and to the port infrastructure serving global shipping routes.

Who are your typical customers?

Food manufacturers, seasoning and spice blenders, snack producers, sauce and condiment makers, ingredient importers, distributors, nutraceutical companies and private label brands.

Do you grow the raw material yourselves?

We source from growers in the producing regions rather than claiming to farm everything ourselves, and we run contracted programmes where a buyer needs a specific variety or guaranteed volume planned ahead of the season.

How do I start a commercial relationship?

Begin with an enquiry describing the product, volume, specification and destination. The usual path from there is specification agreement, samples, then a first trial order.
